Destiny 2 : A Love Letter to the Community

Bungie Embraces Their Greatest Strength

The Destiny 2 reveal was truly something to witness for any Destiny fan. Why? Because the entire reveal was produced to make the entire community even more hyped than they already were. This was made apparent when we were thrown into the tower's destruction and right after displaying the new supers, we were given the fan-favorite sweeper-bot. This is our first nod that this event will be focused on the fans. And what do the fans want? NEW STUFF!... but in a similar package.

Well, that's exactly what we were given. In nearly every second of game-play footage we were shown new worlds, new weapons, new characters, new supers, new, new, and more new. So much so that we were all introduced to new ways to play and team up. And when we weren't being drowned by new possibilities we saw Ikora Rey become a one-woman-army.

There is so much more to talk about, such as Game Guide, Clans, and the focus on solo play. But all in all Bungie's goal was to build interest while filling in the gaps left in the first Destiny. Gaps such as the empty worlds, the dependence on LFG, and the story in general. This is why the reveal event was a love letter to the fans, because it was all we were asking about amongst ourselves, answered and built upon. Bungie is truely listening to their greatest strength, their community.

Missed the reveal? Thanks to IGN's Fireteam Chat, watch it here:
